The Road to Becoming a Doctor-Engineer: A Journey Through IIT and Medical Entrance Exams

 Becoming a doctor-engineer is a challenging yet rewarding journey. It requires a combination of knowledge and skills from both the fields of medicine and engineering. The path to achieving this goal starts with cracking entrance exams for prestigious institutes like IITs and medical colleges.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are renowned for their quality education in engineering. The admission process to IITs involves clearing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The JEE is one of the toughest entrance exams in India, and it requires a high level of aptitude and knowledge in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

To prepare for JEE, students usually start their preparations in 11th grade. They enroll in coaching classes or online courses that provide comprehensive study material and guidance from expert faculties. This can be achieved by pursuing a Dual Degree program offered by some prestigious institutes  These programs offer a five-year integrated course in which students can pursue both B-Tech and MBBS degrees simultaneously.

The Dual Degree program is designed to provide a comprehensive education in both engineering and medicine. The first two years of the program focus on building a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. In the next three years, students specialize in their chosen branch of engineering and also learn clinical subjects and get hands-on experience in treating patients.
